Therapeutic Massage

Whether you have aches and pains or just need to “iron out the creases” from everyday life, Therapeutic Massage may be a fabulous part of your healthcare plan.

Therapeutic massage at AMMA is generally clinically based. Our therapists are specifically trained not to simply address the discomfort – our therapists seek to focus on what is actually causing the discomfort. For this reason, the results are usually longer-lasting than with classical massage.

Therapeutic massage is bodywork customized to the client’s needs – for example, pain relief or postural improvement. Procedures employed include manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, massage therapy and therapeutic exercise. Styles of bodywork drawn upon also include CranioSacral Therapy, deep-tissue, hydrotherapy, neuromuscular therapy, Russian sports massage, assisted stretching, and Swedish massage

There are conditions for which certain types of massage may not be appropriate. Always tell your practitioner if you have a medical problem, even a minor one. Also, let your primary healthcare provider know you are receiving massage. Some conditions require close communication between your massage therapist and your physician.
